 Cantor Rita Glassman received her investiture as a Cantor from the Hebrew Union College in New York City in 1985. Before becoming the Cantor of Congregation Sherith Israel, she served congregations in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Long Island and Marin County. As a representative of the World Union for Progressive Judaism (the global arm of the reform movement), Rita has performed concerts in Brazil and Argentina and has brought cantors from Argentina to Sherith Israel to share their inspirational voices and music. In addition to her love for Chazzanut (the Cantorial art), Cantor Glassman composes and records folk/pop/country songs in Hebrew and English and has four CDs.
